Discovery SG-20

The Discovery SG-20 is a powerful customer information terminal featuring a larger display and programmable buttons. It has a range of interfaces to suit a choice of installations. The simplest connection is via RS232 direct to a COM port on the back office computer. Installing the optional Separator Box converts the RS232 signal from the back office computer into a signal suitable for a single Discovery in RS-422 mode. The box separates the Discovery electrically from the back office system using optocouplers to prevent damage due to ground potential differences. There is also a Network Box available, this unit converts the RS232 signal from the back office computer into a signal suitable for 1 to 32 individual Discoveries in RS485 mode.
Other options include Ethernet or WiFi interfaces allowing the total flexibility of connecting to a TCP/IP network. This has no limit to the number of terminals or their location (they could be anywhere on the World Wide Web)!
